Eco-Towns event

...

The event was about the new Rackheath eco-town,near Norwich which is Brownfield land ...land that had been built on before.

councillors from Broadland and parish councillors were there and peoplewho believe they can make the eco-town sustainable.

there are many pro's and con's to eco-towns

Pro's are.

More housing for those who have less money
a job for every household.
young people having a voice and participation
empowerment...making decisions in the community
good for the environment.

con's are..

Planning..central and local..
segregation of people..new and old ...
15 years to build the town
5 years to create leisure facilities

summary.
Eco-towns are useful they give people new houses but they take a long time to build so while people who need houses increase it will be slow work also though young people will have the opportunity to have their voice heard it depends on the future
though and MYP'S in twenty years time..
