CSN/LGiU conference.
Youth participation and the Internet is actually a little strange.
One of the first speakers in the conference was quite old believed he worked for the youth citizenship commission and
to scared to set up a facebook ..madness the guy is at a youth participation and the Internet conference the whole point is to be advanced in working with everyone.
If I recall the best talk (other than ours :)) was by Dr Julia Glidden it was very good the way she explained it and the way things like this must not stick to it being normal ..reaching out is whats going to make a difference especially to those who are young like me and those who are reading this if you can be bothered.
The young advisers of the Mayor Of Lewisham surprised me because they said that young people do not want to talk to youth workers ..yet Norfolkblurb's social networking has about 160 young people signed up by textpal a moderated social networking site so I think they were in depth maybe.. I'm sure they are good though :) sort of.
Our talk went really well and I had to speak and many people complimented it. I was told i was great but sometimes you can't believe your a shooting star of politics and the suchlike...I like building my own hype...Lol.
Devon county council has done stuff based on the Internet as well which is good but two out of loads is bad.
It was very informative but things need to advance..not much has changed since February at the symposium.

Safer Neighbourhoods Action Panel..x (Y-SNAP)
There is a SNAP in an most communities and this group is the youth one where we meet up once a month to find waysin which to how young people are viewed by society by working with different youth workers and the police to change communities.
I think you can figure from the name to be honest but its good that young people have the opportunity to express their views on where they live.
I hope that it works.

Nationalwide Community and Heritage Awards
In the east region the awards ceremony was yesterday The 15th July and I went with Textpal a project run by Norfolkblurb for people to have mobiles and for them to call young carers who look after members of their family like I do myself, which is why probably I was invited to go.
Textpal where regional winners for 2008 in the one of the community sections which I believe is thoroughly deserved because it help some people so much giving them a link for someone to talk too and it's unique..have you heard of things like this?
It was held at Duxford Air Museum and it was a small but good celebration of Local project which deserved recognition for definite especially Textpal.

East Residential--Bedfordshire.
Well this weekend was the East Residential once again and refocusing on the National Campaigns and figuring out how to start our campaigns in our Counties(mine being in Norfolk).
At the beginning we got to know each other again because we hadn't seen each other since the end of February and there were some new people who were there.
We then had Lunch and then split in to groups and we could choose between Kayaking and Raft building.I did Kayaking and fell in twice :(.
Norfolk then did their presentation on Communication which needs to become better according to some,Networking and Teamwork which is vital in our work as a MYP.
Jacob Rix MYP for North Norfolk talked about communication.
Chloe Donovan MYP for South Norfolk and I spoke about Networking and how NOT to network.
Jasmin Stringer MYP for Great Yarmouth talked about teamwork we then had some free time to meet new people from all over the east which includes Hertfordshire,Bedfordshire,Norfolk,Thurrock,Cambridgeshire,Essex,Peterborough,Luton.
On the Sunday We had a another Presentation from Bedfordshire on ways to campaign
Augustine An MYP for Bedfordshire spoke about ways to campaign and lobby to City Councils and County Councils.
Alex Jonas then talked about ways to get young people Involved in things like Petitions as prove that young people want things to change.
We then finished this and got ready to depart The Frontier centre which is actually in Irthlingborough in Northamptonshire but anyway.
The weekend for most reaffirmed what we already knew and for some MYP's some inspiration on how to start in their constituencies. We also learned alot about the other MYP's and what they do which gave an insight in what we could do in their own especially those who have been MYP's longer. The weekend was Great fun and We are loooking forward to the residential in Hertfordshire in October.
